LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The cost of electricity in Nevada could soon increase, according to energy experts.
The federal government has rolled back millions of dollars allocated for clean energy initiatives, which experts and environmental justice advocates warn could impact Nevada significantly.
A “Solar for All Program,” intended to provide affordable solar power to approximately 50,000 Nevadans, was recently scrapped.
The Solar Energy Industries Association released a report projecting a 34 percent decrease in solar growth by 2030 due to these energy rollbacks.
Jackie Spice from the Nevada Environmental Justice Coalition said, “This program would of made a huge difference…who need relief the most.”
